What is the trade-off between .png and .jpg by UI or front-end?

my understanding of .png and .jpg :

1, .jpg , lossy compression, compression while retaining vivid images
2, .png , no compression, keep high definition

A little bit of learning combined with Xiaomi"s official website: save .jpg for large images and .png

for small images.

  1. complex color JPEG, vector style PNG24, vector style without transition effect PNG8
  2. Universal compression consider finding a working TinyPNG, tool stream solution if you can do it manually
  3. JPEG can appropriately reduce the quality parameters without affecting the image quality, but keep in mind that the output of Ps should not be less than 50%
  4. JPEG will paste at 100% in the case of multiple coding compression (two pressure or even three pressure). A more obvious chestnut is that the screenshot is exported to Ps and then saved to JPEG, because the default format saved by general screenshot software is JPEG, so it is obvious that the secondary compression is here, and the loss of image quality is irreversible.
  5. PNG8 can support Alpha transparency, but it needs to be supported by encoding / compression software (such as limitPNG ). Direct output like Ps cannot support
  6. .
  7. if the Ps version supports the export function, try to use the export output, which will extrude more water than the Web format output, but you can also extrude more water with TinyPNG
  8. TinyPNG is lossy compression. Although the algorithm is optimized and can not be recognized by the naked eye, it is still lossy compression.

means helpless. Png has an Alpha channel but jpeg does not. Your suffix does not change the nature of the image data, of course, the volume remains the same. If you want to experience the difference between them, import a png image in ps and save it as jpeg and png respectively, and you will find that jpeg will add the background color

by default.
